A Four-Layer Digital Twin Platform for Construction Decision Support in Prefabricated Buildings [dataset and code] Open Access

This archive supports research on digital-twin-supported scheduling of prefabricated construction. The published case inputs are compiled from Xuan Zhang’s 2025 thesis, Coordination and Optimization of Prefabricated Building Supply Chain for Sustainability Development, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (https://doi.org/10.14711/thesis-hdl152624). The archive combines these adopted case inputs with supplementary modelling settings, component–activity associations, a study-built visual model, experiment code, platform source code and retained reference results from this study. The experiments examine project duration, incremental decision cost and logistics carbon through static optimisation, sensitivity analysis, Monte Carlo reassessment, post-delay replanning and a coordinated-adjustment ablation. Documentation describes the data sources, reconstruction procedures, study assumptions, software versions and checks performed on the release.

Research methods
Published case data were compiled into activity, demand and supply inputs. Multi-objective optimisation evaluated static schedules and remaining-work schedules after a simulated delay. Deterministic sensitivity analysis and Monte Carlo sampling reassessed fixed schedules under alternative inputs. A paired ablation compared coordinated adjustment across activities with adjustment restricted to the affected activity. Component records and activity associations connect the scheduling case to the browser-based visual representation.
Other description
The archive is supplied as a single ZIP file. Begin with README.md and documentation/SOFTWARE_GUIDE.md. MANIFEST.csv records file sizes and SHA-256 checksums. Checking tools use separate working directories to preserve the deposited files. Formal experiment sources and the final platform sources are identified separately, with version differences documented. The validation documentation distinguishes saved-result checks, replayed evaluations and new optimisation searches.
This research dataset and software supports the findings in the author's Ph.D. thesis.
